Liberal Party Reform

No nonsense blueprint for the rescue of the Liberal Party

1. NSW division reform

  1. Core reform: It’s the core of the Liberal Party and needs to be reformed and cleaned out. You can’t win an election without the NSW division (6 of the 9 PMs have come from NSW).

  2. Cultural change: The division has a culture of ineptitude and incompetence and accidental bad outcomes because of this. There is a complete lack of respect for competent and talented members and an active suppression of talent.

  3. Corruption: The culture of corruption is in its DNA. The fact that it is non-justiciable means there is no recourse for that corruption, so it is entrenched and locked in. The NSW division will not allow for preselection of good people.

  4. Bring democracy to other divisions based on NSW: We also need to look at the other divisions and make sure they are democratic

2. Removal of lobbyists and return to the welfare of the Australian people as core:

We need to get lobbyists out of the process. There is a major conflict of interest. First and foremost the responsibility of elected people is to the Australian people, not the corporate sector nor international governments. Focus needs to shift away from the lobbyist class who only have their own interests at heart.

Lobbyists must be excised from the Australian Liberal Party. They have no business to get involved in party politics and there need to be protections put in place to protect them.

3. Return to the We Believe statement and the individual

The government needs to be focused on the individual - there is no other way. The Party needs to be refocused on the individual, the aspirational and middle-class Australians by underpinning their initiative and opportunity to put the steps back on the staircase from the ground floor so we can truly innovate and build back up the ingenuity and work ethic that Australia was famous for.

4. Rebuilding Australia

We must build meaningful and useful things. We need to build up the capability to strengthen our national prospects. We can make things here and we should. We need to bring back the hills hoist, victor lawnmower and all of the innovations that made Australia great. It’s hard if everything is made elsewhere, the world is shifting and changing.

We have to rely on our own ingenuity and strength so we need to be completely self-reliant, it is going to be essential that we have that given the current geopolitical situation. We need to make our own electronic sector and its only through individual allowances.

Governments are the problem. We need people in power that recognise this. The Liberal party is the only party that can fix it – it’s the only hope. If you don’t have a strong party advocating for individual people, liberty and industrial strength, Australia continues to be hollowed out and filled with more and more public servants.

We need people that are brave enough to fix it.

5. Strong leadership

Through the development comes the leadership. It bubbles up from within.

Not only must they speak to these points but they must deliver, blind to the investment groups blind to those who want it differently, they must have the courage to challenge fearlessly.
